First on EML: Manulife Taps Spillane to Lead EM Fixed Income
Aviva veteran brings local currencies expertise, institutional engagement to Canadian giant's investment arm.
Reported here first, Liam Spillane has moved to a new senior role at Manulife Wealth & Asset Management, heading up the firm's UK-based emerging markets fixed income franchise after nearly twelve years with Aviva Investors,
Spillane managed Aviva's EM local currency bonds fund, while subsequently leading overall EM Debt strategy, from 2013 to 2025. He replaces longtime pan-Asia fixed income leader Endre Pedersen, who had served as head and CIO for EM Fixed Income with Manulife since 2021.
